THE ROLE AND ESSENCE OF SHARIA IN THE REPUBLIC OF IRAQ

Abstract

The article attempts to define the essence and role of Sharia as the basis of the Islamic model of law. The article defines Sharia and highlights its sources. Based on the analysis of theoretical works, the role of Sharia in the legal provision of the Iraqi Republic is assessed. The conclusions of this study may be useful in studying the peculiarities of the legal system of Islamic countries, including Iraq.
