Visual impairment in childhood has negative and sometimes irreversible effects that can persist into adulthood and affect quality of life. Physical activity is important not only for sighted people, but also for people with visual impairments. It helps develop personality, confidence and independence and is vital to the overall development of children with visual impairments in the environment.
The purpose of our study was to study strength and muscle endurance in girls with vision pathology.
The study involved 139 girls aged 7 to 17 years, all were divided into three groups according to age: junior, middle and high school age. The main group included 79 blind and visually impaired girls, including 5 totally blind and 74 visually impaired, and the control group consisted of 60 peers with normal vision
As a result of the study, we found that all indicators of strength and muscle endurance in girls with vision pathology are lower than in their peers with normal vision. Moreover, the greatest difference is observed in the older age group.
