A MODERN VIEW OF THE PATHOPHYSIOLOGY OF VIRAL HEPATITIS C

This article examines the pathophysiology of viral hepatitis C. Hepatitis C virus infection remains the leading cause of liver disease worldwide. Therefore, the World Health Organization has made eliminating hepatitis C virus by 2030 a public health priority. Hepatitis C virus is characterized by genetic variability, allowing it to rapidly adapt and evade the host immune response.
A comprehensive understanding of its global distribution and a better understanding of the molecular and immunological mechanisms underlying hepatitis virus infection will help develop effective treatment strategies.
To reduce the incidence of viral hepatitis, which significantly impacts public health, preventive measures such as vaccination and improved sanitation are necessary.
