Abstract

The article discusses the problem of developing creative imagination of students in literary reading lessons in primary school. In the context of the requirements of the Federal State Educational Standard for Primary General Education, the expediency of using illustration as an effective pedagogical tool is substantiated. The article reveals the main types of illustration (verbal, graphic, and musical) and analyzes their potential for activating the imaginative thinking and creativity of younger students. The article presents the results of an analysis of the pedagogical potential of this method, which contributes to a deeper understanding of literary works and the development of students' creative independence.
