PROSECUTORIAL SUPERVISION OF THE ENFORCEMENT OF LAWS IN PLACES OF DEPRIVATION OF LIBERTY

Abstract

The article examines the theoretical and practical aspects of prosecutorial supervision in places of deprivation of liberty as one of the priorities of the prosecutor's office. The article analyzes the legal basis of this type of supervision, its subject matter, the powers of prosecutors, and identifies existing problems and prospects for improving oversight activities in the penitentiary sector, including issues of material and household support for convicts, medical care, and protection of their rights to communicate with relatives and lawyers. It is concluded that effective prosecutorial supervision is the most important legal guarantee for the observance of the rights and legitimate interests of persons in places of forced detention, and requires further improvement of the regulatory framework and strengthening the practical implementation of supervisory powers.
