THE LIMITS OF PROSECUTORIAL SUPERVISION OVER THE ENFORCEMENT OF LAWS AND ITS LIMITATIONS IN THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION: A THEORETICAL AND LEGAL ANALYSIS

The article examines the legal and organizational limits of procuratorial oversight of law enforcement in the Russian Federation. The authors analyze the system of restrictions on prosecutorial activities, which are derived from constitutional principles, sectoral legislation, delimitation of competences of other state bodies, as well as from internal organizational requirements. Particular attention is paid to the contradictions that arise at the interface between the broad supervisory powers of prosecutors and the need to maintain a balance between public and private interests. It is concluded that further improvement of the legislative regulation of the limits of procuratorial supervision is necessary in order to increase its effectiveness and to meet modern challenges of the rule of law.
