Abstract

This article is devoted to the study of topical issues arising in the exercise of the prosecutor's powers to oversee the legality and validity of decisions to end a preliminary investigation into criminal cases of corruption in the Russian state. The legal nature of prosecutorial supervision is considered through the prism of the provisions of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Russian Federation, in particular, articles 37, 213 and 214. The author analyzes statistical data that determine the effectiveness of this type of supervisory activity. The theoretical discussion identifies systemic challenges characterized by the reform of Russia's criminal procedure legislation, the complexity of corruption crimes, and departmental barriers. The article suggests ways to further improve prosecutorial supervision to ensure the inevitability of punishment for acts of corruption.
