INCIDENCE OF OBESITY IN THE ADULT POPULATION IN THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION

Abstract

Obesity is a global epidemic that affects both adults and children. Obesity rates are rising worldwide, driven by sedentary lifestyles and excessive calorie consumption, particularly simple carbohydrates and fats. This condition entails numerous complications and impacts patients' quality of life, morbidity, and mortality.

An analysis of obesity incidence has shown that the Russian Federation continues to follow the global trend of increasing obesity. Given the complex etiology of obesity, a thorough understanding of the underlying pathophysiological mechanisms is crucial for developing rational, effective, and cost-effective treatment strategies.
