Abstract
Diabetes mellitus is a severe chronic disease of the endocrine system. The incidence of which is constantly growing worldwide. This pathology is characterized by rapid progression of decreased secretory function of β-cells, early onset and a higher incidence of complications and mortality from cardiovascular diseases.
Complications of type 2 diabetes mellitus, such as nephropathy, retinopathy and neuropathy, emphasize the need for early diagnosis and comprehensive treatment to improve treatment outcomes and quality of life.
