ANALYSIS OF THE INCIDENCE OF SKIN MELANOMA IN THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION

Melanoma is a highly aggressive skin cancer characterized by rapid progression, high metastatic potential already in the early stages and an unfavorable prognosis in the late stages, which creates significant difficulties in clinical oncology.
The main risk factors for the development of melanoma are sun exposure, abnormal moles, skin pigmentation phenotype, age and the presence of malignant tumors in the family history. Other risk factors are severe sunburn with blisters, living at high altitude, viruses, and mechanical or chemical irritation.
An analysis of the incidence of skin melanoma showed that its prevalence is steadily increasing. The growth of this indicator is due to both an increase in incidence and detection. The indicator of active detection of skin melanoma showed that the prevalence of the tumor process at the time of detection was at stages I and II in 80.3% of cases. During 2013-2023. There has been a steady decline in mortality among patients with skin melanoma.
