SOME ASPECTS OF THE STAGE OF INITIATION OF CRIMINAL PROCEEDINGS

Abstract

the article is devoted to the study of the institution of initiation of a criminal case as the initial stage of criminal proceedings. The emphasis is placed on the analysis of the procedural conditions stipulated by the Criminal Procedure Code of the Russian Federation, including the reasons and grounds for initiating proceedings. The criteria for assessing reports of crimes are considered: statements of citizens, confessions, materials of state bodies. Particular attention is paid to the procedure of pre-investigation checks regulated by Art. 144-145 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Russian Federation [4], with an emphasis on compliance with deadlines, methods of collecting primary data and requirements for the execution of decisions.
