CLINICAL CASE OF CARBON MONOXIDE POISONING: PECULIARITIES OF PATHOGENESIS AND EMERGENCY MEDICAL CARE

Abstract

This scientific work describes a clinical case of mass carbon monoxide poisoning in members of one family living in the territory of the Belgorod district of the Belgorod region. Symptoms, pathogenetic mechanisms, and algorithms of emergency medical aid rendered are described. An overview of the mechanisms of carboxyhemoglobin formation and its influence on physiologic processes is given. The described clinical observation emphasizes the importance of timely diagnosis and initiation of oxygen therapy.
