ANALYSIS OF THE INCIDENCE OF DISEASES OF THE EYE AND ITS ACCESSORIES IN THE CHILDREN'S POPULATION OF THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION

Abstract

Visual impairment in childhood has a negative and sometimes irreversible impact on the psychological, educational and social development of children, which can persist into adulthood and affect a person's quality of life.

Analysis of the incidence of eye diseases and its adnexa in the child population of the Russian Federation in 2023 showed that the highest rate of this pathology is observed in the Central Federal District, and the lowest in the North Caucasian and Far Eastern Districts.

In the structure of this pathology, the leading position is occupied by diseases of the eye muscles, disorders of concomitant movement, accommodation and refraction, myopia is in second place in terms of frequency of occurrence, and astigmatism is in third place.

Based on this, I would like to note that the protection of children's vision, which includes both prevention and treatment of ophthalmological diseases, remains a key task in the field of healthcare.
