Abstract

The article examines the history of the formation and development of the jury trial in Russia, from its inception in the era of Alexander II's reforms to its current state. The key stages of the development of the institution of jurors have been identified, including legislative design, practical application, and changes in the competence and composition of jurors. The article aims to identify patterns and trends in the development of the jury trial in Russia, as well as to determine its role in ensuring a fair and competitive criminal process.
