STUDYING THE FUNCTIONAL CAPABILITIES OF THE EXTERNAL RESPIRATORY SYSTEM IN GIRLS WITH VISION PATHOLOGY

Abstract

Pathology of the organ of vision is a special medical and social problem. Currently, the incidence of children with vision pathology has a steady upward trend. Complete or partial dysfunction of the visual analyzer in children leads to insufficient motor activity, limited exploration of space and activity in cognition of the surrounding world and, as a consequence, a lag in the pace of general development. The severity of developmental delay in blind and visually impaired children depends on the causes, severity and time of occurrence of visual impairment, as well as on the timely start of correctional work.

To study the functional capabilities of the external respiration system in girls with visual pathology, we examined such indicators of external respiration as chest excursion (in the inhalation and exhalation phases), vital capacity of the lungs (VC), vital index, vital capacity lungs/body weight, vital capacity of the lungs/proper vital capacity of the lungs (VC/VLC), forced expiratory volume for the first sec of the forced expiratory maneuver/proper forced expiratory volume for the first sec of the forced expiratory maneuver (FEV1/DOEF1), Tiffno index ( FEV1/VC).

The study involved 139 girls aged 7 to 17 years, all of them were divided into three groups according to age: junior, middle and high school age.

Thus, as a result of the study, we found that according to all the studied indicators of the functional capabilities of the external respiration system, school-age girls lag behind their peers with normal vision. This should be remembered when prescribing therapeutic and preventive physical exercises.
