THE PROBLEM OF ENSURING THE APPEARANCE OF CANDIDATES FOR JURORS IN COURT

Abstract

in this research paper, the author touches upon one of the essential problems in the criminal process, namely the institution of jurors. To date, the trend is actively developing due to the low turnout of candidates for jurors, and hundreds of invitations have to be sent out to form a full team. We consider it necessary to direct efforts to prevent the current situation. The author of this research paper examines the key reasons for the low activity of candidates, as well as suggests ways to solve these problems. According to the author, the improvement of this area is possible only with: 1) improving the legal culture of society by informing about the activities of the jury, as well as the importance of citizens' participation in the judicial process; 2) establishing financial responsibility for the failure of a candidate without a valid reason.
