COGNITIVE METAPHOR IN MUSICOLOGICAL DISCOURSE

Abstract

The article analyses the representation of cognitive metaphor within the framework of musicological discourse on the materials of the corpus of texts. Five types of cognitive metaphor with a high frequency of use were investigated and identified. Based on the theoretical and pragmatic material of the study, the conclusion was made about the importance of metaphor as an element of scientific cognition, which allows to relate previous experience and newly accumulated experience based on the conceptual system containing the characteristic of everyday human life.
