WAYS OF TRANSLATING TERMS IN THE FIELD OF COSMETOLOGY

Abstract

The article studies the peculiarities of the translation of terminology in the field of cosmetology from English into Russian, taking into account linguistic and cultural factors. It considers the historical features of cosmetology development and the influence of international terminology on the Russian-speaking practice. The paper analyses translation methods, including transliteration, calquing, equivalent and descriptive transliteration, as well as transcription.

The study shows that the choice of translation method is determined by the nature of the term, the degree of mastery of the target language and contextual features.
